<p>PURPOSE: To improve the cooling efficiency of a power cable by connecting a duplex pipe to part of a cooling pipeline in the length direction at a section where no cooling is required or the necessity of cooling is low and circulating a coolant by using one side of the duplex pipe as the going passage of the coolant and the other side as the returning passage of the coolant. CONSTITUTION: A duplex pipe 1 is connected to a part of longitudinal direction of an ordinary cooling pipeline 1 composed of two separate pipes 2, with one pipe 2 being used as the going passage of a coolant and the other pipe 2 being used as the returning passage of the coolant, at a section where no cooling pipe is required or the necessity of cooling is low. It is desirable to adjust the size of each pipe of the duplex pipe 1 to a size which is smaller than that of the pipes 2 and use the inner pipe of the pipe 1 as the going passage of the coolant and the outer pipe as the returning passage of the coolant. The coolant is circulated in the direction shown by the arrow from a cooling base 3 to cool a power cable. As a result, the capacity of the cooling facility installed to the cooling base 3 can be reduced, because the cooling efficiency of the electric cable can be improved. Therefore, the energy used for cooling the power cable and the scale of the cooling base 3 can be reduced.</p> |
