PURPOSE: To reduce visual influence of an LED device being useless information for a main video source by sensing peripheral illuminance and controlling the light emission luminance of the LED device based on the illuminance data obtained there. CONSTITUTION: A signal outputted from a controller 3 so as to drive a light emission type display device 1 is inputted to a drive part 6. On the other hand, an illuminance sensing part 4 senses peripheral brightness, and an illuminance data conversion part 5 converts the brightness to an electric signal based on the illuminance data, and the electric signal is inputted to the drive part 6. The drive part 6 outputs an optionally set drive current or drive voltage based on the illuminance data inputted from the conversion part 5 by making the signal inputted from the device 3 a trigger to drive the display device 1. Since the light emission luminance of the device 1 is varied by the current or the voltage outputted the drive part 6, the light emission luminance is suppressed according to the peripheral illuminance. Thus, the difference (difference sensing visually) of the light emission luminance sensing according to the difference of the illuminance is relaxed.
