The invention relates to a method for processing offal into a usable solid material by heating the offal and processing the heated material further, the heating taking place in an autoclave, and the autoclave producing a solid material and a vapour, which vapour is passed to a thermal after-burner which is coupled to a boiler for generating steam, and steam is obtained from this boiler, part of which steam is returned to the autoclave and part of which steam is blown out; a condensate is drained out of the autoclave and returned to the boiler for generating the steam downstream of the thermal after burner. The invention also relates to a device for carrying out this method. |
