Support structure 1 for hoses or cables 6, 7 for working under water at great depth, the hoses and/or cables 6, 7 being used to supply power, gas, liquid or control signals to tools 24 or other devices. The support structure 1 is formed by elongate, rigid frame parts 2, the ends 12 of which can be connected to one another. The frame parts comprise elements, such as closed tubes 3, 4, which provide buoyancy. The tubes are filled with a lightweight material, such as a pressurized gas or a foamed material. A frame part 2 comprises one or more tubes 3 which if appropriate may be connected to one another by transverse tubes 4 and are provided with members for supporting pipes 6 and cables 7.
