Procedure for the production of plate shaped assembly elements such as doors, and the like, which incorporate decorative work, and by which procedure a heat activated glue (8) is applied on a surface of the assembly element (4), upon which a plastic sheet (6) is placed and heated so that it presses against the element's (4) surface and moulds to the shape of the surface and adheres to this with the help of the glue (8). The procedure brings the decorative work (5) on to the element's (4) surface and, at the same time, the heat activated glue (8) is applied both to the element (4) and the decorative work (5), where after the covering sheet (6) is pressed against the element (4) and the decorative work (5), and securely glued, so that it attaches the decorative work (5) and the element (4) to each other to form a combined entity.<IMAGE>
