PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic and dermatological active compound composition, containing salicylic acid, etc., and a monocarboxylic acid monoester, etc., of monoglycerol and active against spotted skin and Propionibacterium acne. SOLUTION: This active compound composition contains (A) an active amount of salicylic acid and/or an active amount of anα-hydroxycarboxylic acid represented by formula I [R' and R" are each H, a (substituted) 1-25C alkyl, a (substituted)phenyl, etc.] and/or an active amount of anα-ketocarboxylic acid represented by formula II, (B) one or more substances selected from the group consisting of monocarboxylic acid monoesters of monoglycerol, monocarboxylic acid monoesters of diglycerol and monocarboxylic acid monoesters of triglycerol and (C), if necessary, an active amount of retinol and/or a retinol derivative represented by formula III (X is a 1-25C alkyl or a 1-25C alkenyl).
