NARROW-BAND LASER GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a narrow band laser generating device in which a system by a conventional technique is improved by effectively using a linear narrow band optical system on both sides of a gain medium. SOLUTION: A narrow band laser generating device is provided with an optical resonator having first and second reflecting means (total reflection mirrors 12 and 14) for reflecting the radiation, a lazer medium 10 for amplifying the radiation in the resonator, a selecting means (Fabry-Perot etalon 22) provided between the first and second reflecting means for selecting prescribed wavelength components from the radiation, and a polarizing means (polarized beam splittter 20) which generates a plane of polarization by polarizing the radiation. Moreover, the rotating means (Faraday rotator 18) which rotates the plane of polarization for obtaining the radiation with high strength and extremely narrow band width is provided. Then, an output beam 24 is transmitted to the outside of the resonator by the polarized beam splitter 20.
