<p>Peptides of formula (I) are produced by reacting amine (III) NH2-CHR3-COORC with ketoester (V) R2-(CH2)n-COCO2R1 in presence of inert solvent and hydrogenation catalyst, with removal of water. The reaction is carried out with addn. of organic or inorganic base. A similar process is used to make cpds. (II) whereby cpd. of formic (IV) is reacted wth the keto-ester of formula (II) R1 is H, Me, Et or benzyl; R2 is H, 1-4C alkyl, phenyl or phenyl (1-4C) alkyl; R3 is H, heteroalkyl, 1-4C alkyl, benzyl (opt. 4-OH substd) or 1-5C alkyl substd. by acylamino, tert. butoxycarbonylamino or benzyloxycarbonylamino; R4 is H or ester protecting gp; R5 complete a mono or bi-cyclic heterocyclic ring system with 5-10 ring members; n is 0-2.</p> |
