PURPOSE:To turn off a power source in a standby state and to prevent temperature rise of an equipment, noise radiation and power consumption by ejecting an original fed to the equipment when a setting time of a timer means is exceeded and opening the power source of the equipment. CONSTITUTION:The presence of the original is decided by an original sensor 16 and in the case of the presence of the original, the original is fed to the read position by an original supply/discharge device 17 to start a timer 15. When the time expires, the original is discharged by the original supply and discharge mechanism 17 and the power source 18 is turned off. Thus, the timer 15 is started when the presence of the original is judged and when the set time elapses, the original is discharged automatically to turn off the power source thereby preventing temperature rise, noise radiation and power consumption. |
