PURPOSE:To form a water repellent surface on the exterior of a pipe near its end except its tip by retaining the liquid having the feature of giving water repellence on the liquid retainable surfaces of two members and bringing the pipe into contact therewith near its end. CONSTITUTION:Each of two members 3 and 3' has a liquid retainable surface (e.g., cloth), on which the liquid (e.g., silicone oil) having the feature of giving water repellence is retained. A pipe retaining member 7 holds a pipe 6 (e.g., micropipette nozzle) in such manner as to permit its rotation between the two liquid retainable surfaces of the members 3 and 3', while simultaneously bringing the pipe into contact with the surfaces thereof adjacent its end. The rotating shafts 4 and 4' of a tub-shaped member move the members 3 and 3', so that the liquid retainable surfaces thereof move along in opposite directions, whereby a water-repellent surface can be formed on the exterior of the pipe near its end except pipette nozzle tip and whereby the accuracy of quantitative chemical analysis such as regarding liquid component can be improved. |
