PURPOSE: To provide a character color changing device for 'KARAOKE' capable of reducing a processing load of a main CPU by performing color change with simple circuit constitution in the character color changing device changing a character color displayed on a screen according to accompaniment. CONSTITUTION: The character data equal to one line and timing information showing that the color is changed in any position at any timing are read out from a video RAM 3 to be held to a latch circuit 4. The timing information is compared with an address equivalent to one scanning line from an address counter 5 by a comparator 6, and when they agree with each other, a coincidence signal is outputted. A color palette address is generated by the coincidence signal and the character data in a NAND circuit 7. Thus, a color palette number is revised, and the color of the character is changed. |
