PURPOSE: To improve withstand voltage characteristic, to reduce resistivity at a normal temperature and to raise resistance temperature change rate by adding and sintering a specified amount of a rare earth element, SiO2 , MnO2 , Al2 O3 as sub-components and then adding, mixing and molding titanium oxide and thereafter sintering it. CONSTITUTION: A sub-element mentioned below is added to 1 mole of a main component consisting of barium titanate or a solid solution thereof and then sintered. The sub-elements are; about 0.001 to 0.004 mole of a rare earth element, about 0.005 to 0.04 mole of SiO2 , about 0.0003 to 0.0015 mole of MnO2 , about 0.001 to 0.02 mole of Al2 O3 . Then, when titanium oxide is expressed by TiXOY (here, Y<2X), about 0.003 to 0.03 mole thereof is added, mixed, molded, and then sintered. Thereby, a positive temperature coefficient thermistor of low resistance, high resistance temperature coefficient and high withstand voltage can be obtained. |
