The apparatus comprises two vertical runner rails (1) inside which slide two uprights with cross members (2). Two angle irons (3) and two pivoted arms (10) are fixed to the cross member. The sliding assembly is operated by an automatically braked hoist (4) with a crank (5), on which is wound a cable (6). A small pulley (7) is fixed on a lower cross member. The cable end is fixed on a tenon on the hoist support (8). The base of the apparatus is held by two levers fixed at the front and has a rear axle on which are mounted two triangles with three wheels (9) enabling it to climb steps.
