PURPOSE: To provide a controller for an electronic musical instrument and its control program setting method suitable for the production of the electronic instrument of small quantity many kinds and capable of easily setting a control program. CONSTITUTION: The controller for the electronic instrument uses a rewritable read only storage means 42 as a storage means, and is constituted of being provided with a control means 41 writing the control program imparted from the outside in the read only storage means 42 according to the control data imparted from the outside when the matter that the read only storage means 42 is operated in a test mode is instructed or outputting the read out control program to the outside. Further, the control program setting method for the controller is constituted so that when the test mode is instructed by an instruction means, the control program imparted from the outside is written in the read only storage 42 successively according to the control data imparted from the outside, and thereafter, the control program is read out from the read only storage means 42 successively, and reasonableness is checked. |
