PURPOSE: To suppress power consumption of a display by supplying power to the display, when an operator is in front of the display, and cutting the power to the display after the passage of a set time, after the operator leaves. CONSTITUTION: When an operator is operating a personal computer on the front side of a display 2 and the personal computer, a power line 5 is on. If the operator leaves the front of the display 2, time measurement by a timer control circuit 12 begins from that time. And if the operator does not appear in front of the display 2 even after the passage of a constant time, time is over, and a power interrupting signal is outputted from the timer control circuit 12 to a power line on/off control circuit 15 for the display. By this signal, power 16 to the display is cut off. Consequently, it becomes possible to suppress power consumed by the display 2. |
