<p>PURPOSE: To provide an image forming method using a carrier for a negative charge type developer by which the occurrence of character smear and uneven transfer is obviated over a long period a good transfer characteristic unaffected by environment is obtainable and good fixing performance is obtainable. CONSTITUTION: This image forming method consists of a stage of developing the latent image formed on a photoreceptor 5 and transfers developing toners onto a transfer material by using a developer consisting of coloring particles contg. a binder resin and coloring materials and the carrier. The transfer stage is a stage for transferring the latent image by passing the transfer material between a conductive roller 6 which is pressed to the photoreceptor 5 and is impressed with voltage and the photoreceptor 5. The radius of curvature of the photoreceptor 5 is >=35m and the carrier is the carrier for the negative charge type developer prepd. by coating the surfaces of magnetic particles with resin layers consisting of at least the magnesium compd. expressed by the formula Mg(X)n and/or the compd. obtd. by subjecting the magnesium compd. to a hydroxylation treatment and a resin. In the formula, X denotes O/CO3 /OH and (n) denotes an integer from 1 or 2.</p> |
