<p>PURPOSE: To record and edit a video and an audio signal of the NTSC and the PAL systems by processing in the unit of tracks without the provision of an edit gap. CONSTITUTION: Plural kinds of video/audio signals of which code quantity differs from each frame (or field) are recorded by using plural frames depending on a common multiple of the code quantity per frame as a recording edit unit. For example, the signals are recorded in the unit of 6 frames for the NTSC system and in the unit of 5 frames for the PAL system and the track structure is set identically in which each frame has a period of 24 tracks (T=24). Furthermore, audio signals corresponding to the video signals of the plural frames (fields) are recorded in the unit of tracks, e.g. 2 tracks (P=2).</p> |
