<p>PURPOSE: To provide an extremely useful earthquake predicting method by which damage by an earthquake, a disaster or the like can be beforehand avoided or can be prevented to the possible minimum level by predicting an earthquake just before the occurrence of the earthquake. CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic wave detecting means is used to detect a first acoustic emission (acoustic emission) being an ultrasonic wave which is the cause of a high-altitude cloud and an evening glow or a morning glow accompanying a strong ascending current generated before and after about 14 days before an earthquake occurs and is emitted from the underground and a second acoustic emission emitted before and after about 14 days after this first acoustic emission is generated. That an earthquake occurs with a particularly strongly occurring area as the center after several hours from when the second acoustic emission is detected is predicted by detecting the second acoustic emission before and after 14 days after the ultrasonic wave detecting means detects the first acoustic emission.</p> |
