PURPOSE: To suppress the generation of hydrogen gas in a battery and reduce the capacity deterioration during storage by forming the face of a negative electrode terminal board to be kept in contact with a negative electrode material with a copper alloy having the copper content of a specific wt.% or above and having the lead content, tin content, and phosphorus content of specific range wt.% respectively. CONSTITUTION: The face of a negative electrode terminal board to be kept in contact with a negative electrode material 3 is formed with a copper alloy having the copper content of 90wt.% or above, the lead content of 0.8-1.5wt.%, the tin content of 3.5-5.8wt.%, and the phosphorus content of 0.03-0.35wt.%. The main body portion is made of stainless steel, and the outer face side, i.e., the opposite face to the face to be kept in contact with the negative electrode material 3, is made of nickel. When the lead content is smaller than the 0.8wt.%, the generation of hydrogen gas from the negative electrode terminal board 5 cannot be sufficiently suppressed. When the lead content is larger than 1.5wt.%, the machining property may be possibly deteriorated when the negative electrode terminal board 5 is manufactured. |
