The assembly, designed for attaching objects (1) such as urns or vases to a smooth or polished surface (2), consists of a suction cup (3) with a bush (5), held in place by a threaded locking element (4). The upper surface of the suction cup fits into a concave recess (7) in the underside of the object (1), which is then held in place by suction and gravity. The threaded locking element is in the form of a bolt with its shank engaging with the bush (5) after the latter has been inserted through a hole (6) in the fixed object. The bolt is screwed into place with the aid of a key (10) engaging with its head (4).
