<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a high sensitivity current detector which can detect even a low current passing through a current transformer by inserting a battery, having voltage lower than the emission starting voltage of a light emitting element, in the forward direction of the light emitting element. CONSTITUTION: A battery 4 having voltage lower than the emission voltage of a light emitting element 2 is inserted in the forward direction of the light emitting element 2 being applied with the output from an AC unit 1 mounted on a wire A to be measured thus applying a bias voltage. With such battery bias, the light emitting element 2 emits light even with a low passing current and the detection sensitivity is enhanced by a figure or more. When the bias voltage is too high, the light emitting element 2 emits light uselessly and thereby the bias voltage is set lower than the emission starting voltage. The battery 4 may be replaced by a DC power supply which can regulate the current finely. In this case, detection sensitivity is further enhanced by regulating the DC power supply finely thereby regulating the bias voltage.</p> |
