PURPOSE: To provide a luminaire which has a discharge lamp requiring a high- voltage pulse at start and can lower the pulse voltage induced therein by the starting pulse voltage to a level undetectable by human bodies. CONSTITUTION: This luminaire 1, having a high-voltage sodium lamp 7 with a built-in starter using a nonlinear ceramic capacitor and a ballast 5 connected to the lamp 7 via wiring 8, is mounted on a concrete pole 10 by means of a mounting belt 11 without being grounded. In the luminaire 1, the wiring length and starting pulse voltage are set to satisfy VP<=-2.7×D+2200 where D(cm) is the length of the wiring 8 and VP (V) is the starting pulse voltage produced by the starter. |
