PURPOSE: To present the same translated sentence to a user present to the same sentence by avoiding uselessness such as double translation of the same sentence. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a translation data base 16 storing translation, translation retrieving means 12 for retrieving the translation data base 16 corresponding to an input, and translation updating means 14 for updating the translation data base 16 corresponding to the input or the retrieved result. When an input is inputted to the machine translation device, it can be known, by executing the retrieval of the translation data base 16 with the translation retrieving means 12, whether the same translation was executed in the past or not, and when it was executed, that translated sentence can be extracted. Besides, the translation updating means 14 can register the translation on the translation data base 16, if needed, based on the input or the retrieved result. |
