TRIMMING METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC PART

PURPOSE: To trim an electronic part into a predetermined shape even if the electronic part having an area to be trimmed is located on the periphery of scannable range. CONSTITUTION: While measuring the electric characteristics of a resistor 9 mounted on a circuit board 10, a laser beam 7 radiated from a laser oscillator 6 through an optical system 8 irradiates an area to be trimmed of the resistor 9, thus trimming the resistor 9. An image recognition means 12 recognizes the surface profile of the resistor 9 and delivers a data to a controller 13. The controller 13 stores various data and determines the point for starting irradiation of laser beam 7 and the trimming direction through operation. The resistor 9 can be replaced by a capacitor or the like.
