<p>PURPOSE: To provide a muffler that can improve muffling effect with simple structure without needing control sound generating equipment and a control means. CONSTITUTION: A muffler 25 is constituted of a first exhaust pipe 31 where in-phase exhaust sound 47 is propagated along with exhaust gas, a second exhaust pipe 33 where antiphase exhaust sound 53 led out of the opposed face side to the reflecting opposed face 49 of an expansion chamber 27 and reflected by the reflecting opposed face 49 is propagated, and a confluence part 35 where the in-phase exhaust sound 47 propagated in the first exhaust pipe 31 and the antiphase exhaust sound propagated in the second exhaust pipe 33 interfere with each other. The length of the first exhaust pipe 31 is equal to the length from the reflecting opposed face 49 to the confluence part 35 via the second exhaust pipe 33.</p> |
