<p>PURPOSE: To efficiently record data of every rate by recording data intermittently at the rate corresponding to ratio of an input data rate to a recording rate. CONSTITUTION: A user instructs an intermittent recording mode by an operation part 114. Input digital picture data from terminals 101 to 103 are respectively written in memories 104 to 106 according to the rate of input data. On the other hand, information of input data are transmitted from memories 104 to 106 to a control circuit 117. The control circuit 117 determines the mode of an intermittent running recording and then performs a tape transferring operation corresponding to the intermittent recording mode by controlling a capstan servo circuit 116. After the intermittent recording mode is determined, the control circuit 117 reads out data successively from memories 104 to 106 with the clock corresponding to recording data rate during the running period of a tape 201, converts them into data suitable to a recording, and then records the data to the tape at one frame unit.</p> |
