PURPOSE: To provide an optical space transmitter which facilitates an adjustment operation for aligning optical axes and necessitates a smaller floor area. CONSTITUTION: The collimator lens 3, light emitting element 5, light receiving element 6 and polarization beam splitter 4 of the optical space transmitter which bidirectionally transmits and receives a light beam between optical transmission units 2 and 2 are held in a lens holder 13. This lens holder 13 is mounted at a main body frame 11 of the optical transmission units by means of fitting screws 19 disposed approximately parallel with the optical axis at plural points in its outer peripheral part. A compression spring 20 is interposed between the lens holder 13 and the main body frame 11. plural pieces of fitting screws of which the heads are engaged with the lens holder and are screwed to the main body frame 11 and plural pieces of setscrews which are screwed to the lens holder and of which the front end are engaged with the main body frame are usable as well.
