PURPOSE: To provide a device and method for controlling a display with high flexibility and easy for control. CONSTITUTION: Character numbers and color palette numbers, etc., of a series of line continuing in the vertical direction are defined C1 ,0 , C1 ,1 ...C1 ,31 . The data specifying the display position, reduction, etc., of the line are stored in L1 , L2 ...L380 of respective lines. Further, the number of displayable active characters are specified to the L1 , L2 ...L380 . Since the display position is one at every line, control is facilitated, and memory capacity is reduced also. Further, since the number of active characters are specified, display revision, etc., is performed easily and flexibly. |
