PURPOSE: To provide an operation method for a self-excitated reactive power compensating device, which can improve a power factor without using an expensive phase advancing capacitor device. CONSTITUTION: In the case of operating a self-excitated reactive power compensating device 3 in which an inverter is connected to a system busbar 2 through a transformer T to generate a compensating reactive power by controlling the amplitude of the output voltage of the inverter in the same phase as that of a system voltage, a base signal for supplying a phase advancing reactive power is added to an inverter output control signal, and the phase advancing reactive power is always supplied from the reactive power compensating device 3 to the system busbar 2 to compensate for a reactive power made to flow out into the system from a load 1, thereby improving the power factor of the system side. |
