<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device transferring a developed image to a copy sheet from a photoconductive surface. SOLUTION: A device 45 contains continuously variable-length contact assemblies 110, 112 moved from the nonoperational position apart from a copy sheet to the operational position into contact with the copy sheet to press the copy sheet into contact with a developed image on a photoconductive surface 10, and the space between the copy sheet and the developed image is practically eliminated when the developed image is transferred to the copy sheet from the photoconductive surface 10. The length of the transfer device 45 can be changed, and the lengths of the contact assemblies 110, 112 are changed in response to the process width of the copy sheet.</p> |
