PURPOSE: To provide a data processor capable of speedily extracting the bit strings with a relatively simple structure which reads and writes the consecutive bit strings from an optional bit boundary. CONSTITUTION: The processor consists of a buffer register 17 which fetches two consecutive bytes of data from a databus 15 of an MPU 11 and holds them, multiplexer part 18 which selects the desired consecutive bit strings from the buffer register 17 according to an address from an address bus 16 of the MPU 11, and output circuit 19 which fetches only bit strings of a required part by masking the data selected by the part 18 with the preset mask data and outputs them as one byte of data to the databus 15. |
