PURPOSE: To provide an on-vehicle IC card system which not only collects tolls, but also obtains traffic information and diverse information on a road guidance and further a sightseeing guidance. CONSTITUTION: An antenna 3 for toll reception is installed over the road 1 of a toll gate through a gantry 2 and connected to a 1st ground station 10. Further, a 2nd ground station 11 and an information service antenna 12 are arranged at a distance from the toll gate. The 1st ground station 10 sends the kind code of the station from the antenna 3 together with toll reception information. The 2nd ground station 11 sends the kind code of the station from the antenna 12 together with various service information. A vehicle 5 mounting an on-vehicle radio equipment 6 when entering the radio wave area of the 1st ground station 10 or 2nd ground station 11 receives a radio wave from the ground station NO or 11 by the on-vehicle radio equipment 6, selects a communication area according to the kind code of the ground station in the received information and the detection level of the received radio wave, and makes a radio communication of toll reception information or information service. |
