SUPPORTING STRUCTURE OF STRING OF PIANO

PURPOSE: To provide a supporting structure of strings of a piano which contributes to the reduction of the cost of the piano without the need for using bridge pins. CONSTITUTION: Chevron-shaped grooves 22 are engraved on the string supporting surface 20a of a short bridge 20 and the strings S are fitted into these grooves 22. The parts nearer the tuning pin side of curving points 22a of the grooves 22 are formed to a shape opened toward the tuning pin to allow the strings S to vibrate. The strings S are bent at the curving points 22a of the grooves 22 and are eventually regulated in the chord length at these curving points 22a.
