PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for a battery for holding information, such as a setting parameter and a machining program, which is not necessary for operation when the numerical controller is powered off. CONSTITUTION: This numerical controller has a rewritable and readable semiconductor storage means 1 which can rewrite held information and continues to hold the held information without being applied with a source voltage, a RAM 2, a 1st writing means 3 which writes the information stored in the RAM 2 in the rewritable and readable semiconductor storage device 1, and a 2nd writing means 4 which writes the information stored in the rewritable and readable semiconductor storage device 1 in the RAM 1. |
