A shrink-film packing machine foil guide for winding plastic around the material to be packed in the foil guide's packing channel, which foil guide comprises two parts 1, 2 which can be moved relative to each other in the transverse direction for adjustment of the width of the packing channel. The foil guide comprises an inlet surface 3 for guiding the foil towards the packing channel, a transverse winding edge 4 for guiding the central area of the foil to the packing channel's upper surface 5, edge guide surfaces 6 placed at an angle to the inlet surface and the packing channel's edges 7, where the angle with the inlet surface forms the first edge-winding edges 8 and the angle with the edges 7 forms the second edge-winding edges 9. There are also edge- guide wings 10 leading in the direction of the packing channel's lower surface, in which wings there are obliquely set guide front edges 11 leading in the direction of the packing channel for guiding the foil's edges over each other in the direction of the lower surface of the material to be packed. The edge-guide wings 10 are supported on the corresponding parts 1, 2 of the foil guide by adjustment members 12 for adjusting their distance from the upper surface 5 of the packing channel. <IMAGE>
