PURPOSE: To make it possible to stably hold an electric power system by limiting electric power of a generator by applying an compensating voltage based on a voltage command value generated in response to the speed of a generator, to a low voltage side of the line of a stepup transformer, thereby suppressing a rise in the speed of the generator even though a short-circuit accident occurs at the power transmission line. CONSTITUTION: If an instantaneous power command value Pg* is output from an adder 25, then an operating circuit 28 calculates an effective power currently being output by a generator 1 based on a line current ig flowing to a line Lg at low voltage side of a stepup transformer 2 and also on a line voltage Vg being applied to the line Lg at the low voltage side and then creates a voltage command value Vi* by proportionally amplifying a deviation between the effective power and the instantaneous power command value Pg*. Then, if a voltage command value Vi* is output from the operating circuit 28, an inverter 30 applies a compensating voltage Vi based on said voltage command value Vi* to the line Lg at low voltage side and controls the effective power of the generator 1. By doing this, a rise in speed of the generator 1 can be restricted even though a ground fault occurs at the power transmission line thereby holding the power system stable. |
