HEAT-SENSITIVE TRANSFER METHOD.

Heat-sensitive transfer comprises superimposing a heat transfer sheet (1) on an image receiving sheet (2) so that the dye layer and the acceptance layer face each other, then heating the heat transfer sheet on the rear to transfer the dyes to the acceptance layer, the amt. of heat supplied being varied in accordance with the image information. (I) has a layer of dyes and a binder on a substrate. (2) has an acceptance layer made of a resin for accepting the dyes transferred from the dye layer of (1). (1) and (2) have the following properties. The dye diffusion coeff. in the acceptance layer during the dye transfer is 5 x 10 power 9 cm2/min at 120 deg.C or more. During the dye transfer the saturated dye transfer ratio at 120 deg. C is 40% or more. The dyes in the dye layer of (1) can be dissolved in the binder. The dye layer of (1) is formed by painting multi colour layers on the substrate. The dyes constituting the dye layer of (1) have a molecular wt. of 150 - 800 sublime.
