The device has a motor housing (24a,25) contg. a motor (1) with a vertical shaft, a handle (24c,25c) mounted behind the housing and parallel to it and contg. a power switch (27), a transmission cover (24b,25b) above the handle, a power delivery section (50) and a battery (31) with an insertion and removal mechanism. The power delivery section extends forward from the front of the transmission cover and has a tip section for driving at least a nut or threaded bolt to be tightened. The battery extends across the motor housing and handle and the insertion and extraction mechanism is parallel to the motor shaft.
