The memory (14), an EEPROM, and the central processing unit (16) are provided for the vehicle and the processing block (13) for the data. This block contains the ID code detector (131), a first memory (132) for storing previous codes, a second memory (133) for present codes and first (134) and second (135) comparison units. When the key (2) is placed in the ignition lock (5) and turned to activate the ignition, the detector (131) processes the ID code repeatedly sent out by the antenna (19) and registers it in the memory (132), followed by another registration at a later time in the second memory (133). The codes are compared and if they agree, the ID code from the reference ID code is registered in the EEPROM and the engine released.
