<p>An envelope closer comprising an abutment member (32) and rollers (36, 38, 48) for transporting an envelope (42). The abutment member (32) is biased against the transport direction of the envelope entering the closer via the feed rollers (36, 38), such that the envelope folds at the flap crease (46) when this lies between the abutment member (32) and the feed rollers (36, 38). The folded envelope is then urged towards the exit rollers (38, 48) for transporting it away, which rollers also serve to press the flap closed.</p> |
