The movable reflector (6) can be positioned in front of or near to the receiver element. For the aligning of the sensors (1); the light amount emitted from the first sensor arrives on the receiver element of the first sensor across the retroreflector (6), and is evaluated in an evaluation unit, as a measure of the quality of the alignment. The receiver element of the second sensor is arranged with its endface facing the first sensor, the retroreflectors protrude from the side walls of the two sensors. So that the surface normals of the retroreflector surfaces are aligned parallel to the direction vector (R) of the receiver element.
