The device uses an endoscope with an optical fibre for supplying light to the examined body cavity, an objective lens and an optical conductor for transmitting the objective image to an eyepiece (3), supported by a holder (4) in front of the user's eye. The holder is fitted to the user's head, with the monocular endoscope eyepiece coupled to the beam path of a binocular viewing system (6) similarly supported by the holder.
