Magnetic rail brake for railway vehicle

The brake has at least one operating cylinder (14) with an actuation piston (18) via which a magnet device with a slide shoe can be lowered onto a rail. A cylinder chamber (30) of the actuation cylinder can be connected to a working line (28) of a hydraulic circuit with a feed pump (36). The resulting movement of the actuation piston takes place against a hydrodynamic spring element with a hydraulic storage device (20). The storage device is a gas storage device which interacts with a cylinder chamber (30) via a pressurised liquid line (22). A flow valve (70,76) for generating a counter pressure in the pressure build-up direction is arranged in the liquid line and/or the working line and in parallel with a non-return valve (78) which opens in the pressure reduction direction.
