Multipole pluggable electric connector with lockable contacts

The contacts (14) are inserted axially into chambers (13) of a contact carrier (12) and locked by means of prim. spring catches. The locking section (16) of each contact is tapered w.r.t. its box-shaped section (17). The sec. locking element is a slider (18) pushed into a locking position in the contact carrier where the central section and the associated chamber are partially overlapped in the axial direction. The slider pref. in mid-course executes a transverse movement into axial overlap with parts of the contacts.
