A device for freezing fluid substances using a fluid refrigerant, particularly liquid nitrogen, comprising a conveying channel (2) for conveying the substance to be frozen and the fluid refrigerant. The device further includes a metering apparatus (1) for the fluid substance and a collecting apparatus (8) for the frozen substance. The metering apparatus (1) is arranged at one end of the conveying channel (2) and the collecting apparatus (8) is arranged at the opposite end thereof. The conveying channel (2) comprises, in the conveying direction, at least one non-horizontal section (3) connected to an essentially horizontal section (4) having a conveying apparatus (7).
