<p>A seat (10) for a kayak (12) has a base (20) adjustably mounted in the cockpit (11) of the kayak (12), and a seat portion (30) rotatable relative to the base (20) about an axis (A) defined by a pivot pin (40). Low friction washers or spacers (42, 43) enable the seat portion (30) to rotate freely. By having the axis (A) in alignment with, or near to, the rower's anus (100), the rower (101) can achieve greater body thrust, and thereby an increased length of stroke and greater driving power with the oars.</p> |
