An indoor type gas insulated substation in which a part or the whole of a gas insulated switch is suspended from the ceiling of a building of the substation with a transformer provided in a lower space therein. An upper space, which is not utilized in a conventional substation of this kind, in the building of a substation becomes able to be utilized, and a transformer can be provided under a part or the whole of the gas insulated switch. This enables the substation as a whole to be miniaturized.
