In a process for permanently bonding two components (1,2) having a relatively large gap between them e.g. fibre reinforced components, a layer (6) of a curable resin impregnated fibrous material, e.g. a prepreg, is inserted between the two layers (4,5) of heat curable adhesive in contact with the component surfaces and is cured in conjunction with them. USE/ADVANTAGE - The bonding system is used esp. for FRP components and allows large bonding gaps to be bonded without reducing bond strength.
