<p>A safety device for a motor vehicle comprises an inflatable element (8) which is initially stored in position in a recess in a door frame (4). A gas generator (5) may provide gas to inflate the inflatable element. When the inflatable element is inflated it extends between the head of a person sitting in the motor vehicle and the door, or a window in the door. The device provides protection in a side impact or roll-over situation.</p> |
