PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition which can give a molding excellent in rigidity, impact resistance and heat resistance by mixing a polyamide resin with a layered silicate and an impact resistance improver. CONSTITUTION:The title resin composition comprises a polyamide resin or a resin mixture (A) containing the same and a layered silicate and an impact resistance improver (B) each homogeneously dispersed in component (A). As the polyamide resin of component (A), one having an average MW of 9,000-30,000 is desirable. The layered silicate of component (B) is a component which can impart excellent mechanical properties and heat resistance to a molding obtained from the polyamide resin composition. It is usually desirable that its shape is such that the thickness is in the range of 6-20Angstrom and the length of a side is in the range of 0.02-1mum. The above term 'homogeneously dispersed' means a state in which respective sheets of the layered silicate are dispersed parallelly and/or randomly and at least 50%, desirably, at least 70wt.% of the silicate is dispersed without forming any agglomerates. |
